Who am I? I’ve been working as a DBA since 2005, starting with Oracle v7 and SQL Server 2000.
I first started working in IT as an Application Support Analyst for Egg Banking (yes, the one with those crazy guinea pig ads!) with PL/SQL, AS/400 and such like, but after a while decided I needed more of a challenge…more responsibility…
I’ve always been the kind of person who wants to know exactly why things do what they do, and so that’s when I decided to become an Oracle DBA. Well, I’m still a DBA and I love it 🙂
Why another DBA blog? Here’s my view on it…
The more you learn, the more you know.
The more you know, the more you forget.
The more you forget, the less you know.
So…blog it before you forget it!
…and so this blog is my technical journal if you like, sharing my experiences, tips, and techniques as a DBA using both Oracle and SQL Server technologies over the years.
